Max Mackissock has manned and directed kitchens in Colorado for over 20 years. Max has built a loyal following through his past projects in both Summit County and Denver, consistently earning accolades from the press, industry professionals, his peers, and most recently, Michelin—with A5 Steakhouse receiving a Recommended Restaurant nod two years in a row, and Ash’Kara being awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand for two consecutive years.
His years of studying technique and tradition in Italy, combined with his in-depth knowledge of classical French cuisine, have fueled his passion for creating truly memorable dining experiences. He joined forces with Katie O’Shea and Juan Padró to open Bar Dough in 2015, and the trio has gone on to open Señor Bear, Ash’Kara, Mister Oso, A5 Steakhouse (formerly Morin), and Kumoya,, Bar Amorina, as well as consulting on the launches of 7908 Aspen, Sofia, and Maine Shack.
